Some of my fondest memories as a child was traveling to Mississippi. My grandmothers: Earline, Mary Frances, and Leola were the best bakers in the south. You could always smell their delicious desserts baking in the kitchen. Baking became my sense of relief while being a single mother, raising my two daughters. About 20 years ago, I started baking cheesecakes and it turned out to be a big hit on the holidays, and then I dabbled into more intrique recipes. My family began requesting my desserts and one day, my father gave me the biggest compliment. He said, "you bake just like my mama." His words gave me the motivation to create something worthwhile. At that moment, I knew I wanted to share my recipes with the community and that laid the groundwork for The Sugar Cloud.
